                        NUMIS CORPORATION PLC ('NUMIS')

                               GRANT OF OPTIONS


The Board of Numis announces that it has, on 8 August 2002, granted options over
145,000 Numis ordinary shares under the Numis Unapproved Executive Share Option
Scheme.  This represents 0.94 per cent of the issued ordinary share capital of
Numis.  These options are exercisable at a subscription price of 231p after 8
August 2005 but before 8 August 2012.

The Board of Numis also announces that it has, on 8 August 2002, granted options
over 25,000 Numis ordinary shares held in the Numis Employee Share Trust under
the Numis Employee Share Trust Unapproved Executive Share Option Scheme.  This
represents 0.16 per cent of the issued ordinary share capital of Numis.  These
options are exercisable at a subscription price of 231p after 8 August 2005 but
before 8 August 2012.

The ordinary shares referred to in this announcement are the ordinary shares of
25p each in Numis Corporation Plc.
