Grant of options and change of name of nominated broker

The Board of Numis announces that it has, on 8 May 2000, granted options over
397,001 Numis ordinary shares to employees of the Numis Group, representing
2.7% of the issued ordinary share capital. Included in the 397,001 options are
options granted to a director of Numis as follows:

These options are exercisable at a subscription price of 252.5p after 8 May
2003 but before 8 May 2010.

The Board of Numis also announce that the name of its nominated broker has
changed from Raphael Zorn Hemsley Limited to Numis Securities Limited,
effective 28 April 2000.
