The issuer has made the following amendment to the Purchase of Own Shares 
announcement released on 15 May 2006 at 16:41 under RNS NO 0024D.

The number of shares remaining in issue should read 49,201,891 and not 
49,101,891 as previously shown.

PURCHASE OF OWN SHARES

The Company announces that on 12 May 2006 it purchased for cancellation under an
existing authority granted by shareholders 125,000 ordinary shares of 5p each in
the market at a price of 77.4p, representing approximately 0.25 per cent of the
Company's issued share capital.  There remain 49,201,891 ordinary shares in
issue.
