North Atlantic Smaller Companies Investment Trust PLC ("The Company")

Transaction in Own Shares

The Company announces that it has today purchased 35,000 Ordinary shares of 5p each for cancellation representing approximately 0.24% of the issued share capital at a price of 965p per share. Following this purchase the Company's issued share capital consists of 14,257,252 ordinary shares with voting rights.

In addition the Company has purchased 25,000 units of Convertible Unsecured Loan Stock 2013 ("CULS") at a price of 965p per unit for cancellation leaving 1,970,800 units outstanding.

The above figures (14,257,252 Ordinary shares and 1,970,800 units of CULS) may be used by shareholders as the denominator for the calculations by which they will determine if they are required to notify their interest in, or a change to their interests in, the Company under the FSA's Disclosure and Transparency Rules.
