Repayment of Preference Stock

As sanctioned at the annual general meeting of the Company
held on 20 July 1999 the repayment of the Preference Stock
becomes effective on 28 October 1999 upon registration of the
court order with the Registrar of Companies.  The register of
the Preference Stock will close at the close of business on 
27 October 1999 and no further settlement of Preference Stock
held in uncertificated form in CREST will take place with
effect from the close of business on 27 October 1999.
