BOARD APPOINTMENT AT EDINBURGH US TRACKER TRUST PLC

The board of Edinburgh US Tracker Trust is pleased to announce the
appointment of Archie Hunter as a non-executive director of the company
with effect from 1 September 2003.

Mr Hunter, who is 60 and a chartered accountant, has spent his career in
the profession in the UK retiring in 1999 as senior partner for
Scotland. He is a former president of The Institute of Chartered
Accountants of Scotland. He is a director of MacFarlane Group and a
number of unlisted companies.

There are no details on Mr Hunter which require to be disclosed in
relation to paragraph 6.F.2(b) to (g) of the Listing Rules.

Mr Hunter has held the following directorships within the past 5 years:
