Nokia to Acquire Network Alchemy
- Network Alchemy's Unique IP Clustering Technology
Strategic to Nokia's Vision of a Mobile Information Society -
Nokia today announced its intent to acquire Network Alchemy, the
Santa Cruz, California based leading provider of IP Clustering
solutions. This acquisition provides a platform from which Nokia
will build high availability, highly scalable and secure solutions
required to support the high number of on-line transactions
envisioned in a Mobile Information Society.
Under the terms of the agreement, Nokia ADSs (American Depositary
Shares and Nokia stock options worth approximately US$335 million
in total will be exchanged for the outstanding capital stock of
Network-Alchemy. The closing of the transaction is subject to
customary closing conditions and is expected to occur in the first
quarter of 2000.
