On 19 March 2007, the Board of Nichols plc announced that it was in preliminary
discussions regarding the possibility of an offer for the entire issued and to
be issued share capital of Nichols plc. Today, the Board announces that
discussions in relation to the offer have been terminated. For the purposes of
the Takeover Code this means that Nichols plc is no longer in an offer period.


Further to the interim results announcement on 2 August 2007, Nichols plc
continues to trade well and the Board remains confident in its ability to
continue to deliver enhanced shareholder value in the future.
