Appointment of non-executive Chairman


23 March 2009 - The Board of Netcall plc (AIM:NET), a leading provider of callback, auto-messaging and contact solutions, is pleased to announce the appointment of Michael Edward Wilson Jackson as non-executive Chairman of Netcall, with immediate effect.


As such, and further to the announcement dated 29 January 2009, Roger Allsop shall step down as non-executive Chairman and be reinstated as non-executive director of Netcall.

 

Michael Jackson, 58, founded Elderstreet Investments Limited in 1990 and is its Executive Chairman. For the past 25 years, he has specialised in raising finance and investing in the smaller companies quoted and unquoted sector. Michael has been Chairman of two FTSE 100 companies including PartyGaming plc and from 1997 until August 2006 was Chairman of The Sage Group plc. 


He is also a director of and investor in many other quoted and unquoted companies, including Elderstreet portfolio companies; Snacktime plc and Kellan Group plc. Michael studied law at Cambridge University, and qualified as a chartered accountant with Coopers and Lybrand before spending five years in marketing for various US multinational technology companies.

Michael Jackson was a director of the companies listed below, which were the subject, or may have been the subject, of compulsory liquidation, creditors' voluntary liquidation, administration, company voluntary arrangement or other composition or arrangement with creditors whilst Mr. Jackson was a director or within 12 months of him ceasing to be director:


 

(a)  Steve Dudman Plant Limited - This company went into administration on 14 September 1998 with the administration order being discharged on 23 October 2000. Steve Dudman Plant Limited was then the subject of compulsory liquidation on 23 October 2000 and was dissolved on 7 January 2006.
 
(b)  Medialoom Limited - This company was the subject of a creditors' voluntary liquidation which was commenced in July 2001. The date of dissolution of the company was 14 January 2006.
 
(c)  Travelstore.com Group PLC - This company was the subject of a members' voluntary liquidation which was commenced in December 2003. The date of dissolution of the company was 5 August 2005.
 
(d)  Interbizz Financial Systems Limited - This company went into administrative receivership in April 2003. The date of dissolution of the company was 8 May 2007.
 
(e)  Select Software Tools PLC - This company was the subject to an administration order on 27 May 1999 and a corporate voluntary arrangement which commenced on 19 August 1999.
 
(f)   Abercorn Place School PLC - This company was subject to a creditors' voluntary winding up on 8 March 1996. The date of dissolution of the company was 3 July 1998.
 
(g)  QBF Typesetting Limited - This company went into administrative receivership in 1991. The date of dissolution of the company was 29 November 1994.
 
(h)  QBF Heliogramme Company Limited - This company went into administrative receivership in 1991. The date of dissolution of the company was 29 November 1994.
 
(i)   QBF Computer Art Company Limited - This company went into administrative receivership in 1991. The date of dissolution of the company was 29 November 1994.
 
(j)   Watershed Pictures Limited - This company was subject to a corporate voluntary arrangement and the appointment of a receiver manager on 10 July 1995. The company was then subject to an order to wind up in respect of compulsory liquidation on 9 December 1998. The date of dissolution of  the company was 2 October 2003
 
(k)  Weyrad Electronics Limited ('Weyrad'). In January 2000, Weyrad was put in administration. Weyrad was struck off the register under section 652(5) of the Act on 8 June 2004 and dissolved on 15 June 2004.
 
(l)   Worktops (No 1) Limited ('Worktops'). Worktops was wound up voluntarily by its members on 9 June 2003. According to the members' voluntary winding up declaration of solvency dated 9 June 2003, Worktops will be able to pay its debts in full together with interest at the official rate within a period of 12 months from the commencement of the winding up. Worktops was dissolved on 10 December 2003.
 
(m) EU Smart Limited and Wimbledon 123 Limited, which were dissolved via a voluntary strike off on 5 December 2006 and 20 November 2007 respectively.
