Notification of Major Interests in Shares

Sections 198-202 of the Companies Act 1985 amended by Sections 134(1) to (3)
of the Companies Act 1989.

NMT Group Plc received a notification on the 6 September 2001 from Friends
Ivory & Sime plc on behalf of its clients, informing it that as a result of a
purchase of 1,000,000 shares on the 4 September 2001, it's client's now have a
material interest in 24,191,968 shares representing 10.33% of the Company's
issued share capital.
