            Appointment of Laurie Rostron as Non-Executive Director



The Board of NMT Group PLC is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr Laurie
Rostron as a Non-Executive Director.



Mr Rostron is currently Non-Executive Chairman of both Aortech International plc
and Ranier Technology Limited and a Non-Executive Director of a number of other
companies. He has considerable experience of the healthcare industry
particularly in the medical device sector.



Commenting on Mr Rostron's appointment, Roger Gilmour, Non-Executive Chairman of
NMT said:



'I am delighted that Laurie will be joining the Board of NMT Group. Lauries's
appointment, given his considerable track record as a Venture Capitalist in the
healthcare industry, both strengthens the Non-Executive representation on the
Board and offers significant experience on realising shareholder value in small
cap companies.'



In accordance with paragraph 16.4 of the UKLA's Listing Rules, Mr Rostron is :-



1          currently a director of Aortech International plc.



2          a director between 1994 and 2000 of MiniDoc AB, a Swedish company
listed on the Stockholm Stock Exchange and a director between 1995 and 1997 of
Biodynamics International Inc, a US company listed on NASDAQ.



3          An Executive Director of Foldhigh Limited between 1986 and 1999, when
this company was subject to a voluntary winding up with no shortfall to
creditors.





There are no other disclosures required under paragraph 6.F.2 (b)-(g).
