                    Notification of PDMR Interest in Shares


The Company was advised on 3 September 2007 by the Trustee of the Northumbrian
Water Group Share Incentive Plan (the "Plan") that on 3 September 2007 it
purchased 443 ordinary 10 pence shares in the Company ("Ordinary shares") at
£3.39 per share on behalf of Graham Neave.


In addition, pursuant to the rules of the Plan, Mr Neave was granted a further
147 Ordinary shares for nil consideration.


Following this purchase and grant, Mr Neave has an interest in 17,640 Ordinary
shares, representing approximately 0.003% of the issued Ordinary share capital
of the Company.
