Notification of Director / PDMR Interests' in Shares

The Company was advised on 1 May 2009 by the Trustee of the Northumbrian Water Group plc Share Incentive Plan (the "Plan") that on 1 May 2009 it purchased 650 Ordinary 10 pence shares in the Company ("Ordinary shares") at £2.3072 per share on behalf of each of John Cuthbert (Director), Chris Green (Director) and Ceri Jones (PDMR).

In addition, pursuant to the rules of the Plan, Mr Cuthbert, Mr Green and Mr Jones were each granted a further 217 Ordinary shares for nil consideration.

Following these purchases and grants Mr Cuthbert has an interest in 238,088 Ordinary shares, Mr Green has an interest in 158,546 Ordinary shares and Mr Jones has an interest in 36,069 Ordinary shares, representing approximately 0.04%, 0.03%, and 0.006% of the issued Ordinary share capital of the Company respectively.
