MURRAY INTERNATIONAL TRUST PLC


Murray International Trust PLC (the 'Company') announces that it has today
purchased 9,310,000 ordinary shares in the market at a price of 512.7p
(including 8,754,000 shares from ST Partners L.P.) Following cancellation of
these shares the Company will have 94,156,841 ordinary shares in issue. As a
result of this share buyback, the Company has enhanced the net asset value per
share for ongoing shareholders by 4.61p.


ST Partners L.P. has undertaken to withdraw the requisition to put a
resolution to the Annual General Meeting, which the Company announced on 14
December 2000.
