MURRAY INTERNATIONAL TRUST PLC


Murray International Trust PLC is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr
James Douglas Best as an independent non-executive Director to the Board, with
effect from 30 June 2005.

Mr Best is a partner of Arkios Ltd., a London merchant bank, formerly a Managing
Director with UBS and until 2004 responsible for UBS Wealth Management in
Scotland. Mr Best has worked in international securities markets for 30 years in 
New York, Singapore and London.

Mr Best was until 18th March 2005 when the company undertook a member's
voluntary liquidation, a Director of Murray Global Return Trust PLC. He was also
a director of Quayle Munro Holdings PLC until February 2002.

Mr Best, currently has no beneficial interest in the shares of the Company

There is no disclosure required under Section 6.F.2 (b) to (g) of the Listing
Rules.
