Interim Management Statement - 3 months to 31 March 2012

 

To the members of Murray Income Trust PLC

This interim management statement has been produced solely to provide additional information to shareholders as a body to meet the relevant requirements of the UK Listing Authority's Disclosure and Transparency Rules. It should not be relied upon by any other party or for any other purpose.

 

This interim management statement relates to the period from 1 January 2011 to 31 March 2012, and contains information that covers this period and up to the date of publication of this interim management statement, unless otherwise specified.

 

Investment objective

To achieve a high and growing income combined with capital growth through investment in a portfolio principally of UK equities.

Material events

On 24 February 2012, the Company posted its half-yearly report, for the six months to 31 December 2011, to shareholders.

 

A first interim dividend of 5.5p was paid on 13 January 2012 to shareholders on the register at the close of business on 16 December 2011. A second interim dividend of 5.5p was paid on 13 April 2012 to shareholders on the register at the close of business on 9 March 2012.

 

Material transactions from 31 December 2011 to 4 May 2012

During the period from 31 December 2011 to 4 May 2012, the Company sold 810,000 shares held in its treasury account for a total consideration of £5,358,900. There were no shares purchased during the period, or up to the date of this announcement.  As at 4 May 2012, the Company had 65,499,458 Ordinary shares in issue (excluding treasury shares).
