                             PURCHASE OF OWN SHARES

Molins PLC announces that, following the approval of shareholders at the Annual
General Meeting held on 26 April 2000 to purchase up to 15% of the Company's
ordinary shares for cancellation, it purchased on 27 June 2000 from Cazenove &
Co. 2,350,000 ordinary shares of 25p each at a price of 140.0p per share.
