Mothercare PLC : Change in Shareholding

Mothercare plc announces that it was advised today by Fidelity Investments (on
behalf of FMR Corp. and its direct and indirect subsidiaries and Fidelity
International Limited (FIL) and its direct and indirect subsidiaries) of an
increase in their notifiable interest in the share capital of Mothercare plc.

The interest comprises 7,181,574 ordinary shares or 10.03% of Mothercare's
issued share capital (previously 6,923,032 or 9.69% on a share capital of
71,416,983).
