Mothercare plc announces that Mr David Williams, a non-executive director of the
company, yesterday purchased 1,000 Mothercare ordinary shares at a price of
560.4p per share.

Following this announcement Mr Williams holds a total of 33,300 ordinary shares
equivalent to 0.0377% of the total voting rights of the company.
