Mothercare plc announces that Neil S. Harrington, Group Finance Director, has
today purchased 2000 Mothercare ordinary shares at a price of 522.5p per share.

Following this announcement Neil Harrington holds a total of 12,574 ordinary
shares equivalent to 0.014% of the total voting rights of the company.
