Morgan Sindall PLC 07 June 2006 Morgan Sindall plc ('Morgan Sindall') Morgan Est preferred bidder for £420m gas project for the North of England Morgan Sindall's infrastructure services provider Morgan Est and consortium partner Balfour Beatty, have been appointed preferred bidder for a seven-year, £420 million engineering contract to upgrade gas networks across the North of England for United Utilities which runs the mains system on behalf of Northern Gas Networks. Under the terms of the Northern Gas Networks deal, valued at an annual £30 million to Morgan Est, the team will replace gas mains, carry out reinforcement works and install new gas connections to domestic and commercial properties across the North East, Yorkshire and Cumbria. The deal includes a potential five-year extension. The contract is due to start in July this year.
