Morgan Sindall Joint Venture Wins Crossrail Contract worth £235 million

Morgan Sindall Group plc, the construction and regeneration group, today announces that BBMV, a joint venture in which Morgan Sindall, its construction and infrastructure division, holds an approximate 30 per cent share, has been awarded the Crossrail Whitechapel and Liverpool Street Station Tunnels contract.

The contract is valued at £235 million. Work is expected to commence in February 2011 and will take approximately five years to complete.

BBMV comprises ALPINE BeMo Tunnelling, Balfour Beatty, Morgan Sindall and VINCI Construction.

The Whitechapel and Liverpool Street Station Tunnels contract covers the construction of all station tunnels and associated works at the respective sites and forms an integral part of the wider project. 

All four businesses in the BBMV joint venture have a solid record of delivering major infrastructure schemes in London and throughout the world and will jointly provide the full range of skills, resources and technical expertise required for this complex project.
