Morgan Sindall PLC 30 September 2004 Morgan Sindall Plc ('Morgan Sindall' or the 'Group') Major Contract Wins for Morgan Est Morgan Est, the Infrastructure Services division of Morgan Sindall, is pleased to announce recent successes in the water sector, for Severn Trent Water (' Severn Trent') as part of its Asset Management Programme 4 ('AMP4'), and the gas sector for National Grid Transco ('NGT'). The total potential value to the Group of these contracts is approx. £340 million. Morgan Est has been selected by Severn Trent as one of its preferred suppliers to carry out a number of projects in its Southern Area, consisting of South Warwickshire, Birmingham, Gloucestershire and Worcestershire. The work, which is expected to start in April 2005 and will last for five years, will involve non-infrastructure, process related civil engineering and mechanical & electrical installation projects, including both asset renewal and new construction and is valued at between £15 and £20 million per year. NGT has awarded a Professional Services Contract for its Birmingham alliance project to the Morgan Est Gas Alliance ('MEGA') which consists of Morgan Est, Parsons Brinckerhoff, Glendee and Utilise. MEGA is one of four consortia bidding for part of NGT's £1.8 billion programme of gas replacement work - the largest gas renewal scheme in UK history. The award of a Professional Services Contract involves preparatory work ahead of the award of Alliance Agreements, each worth £30-40 million annually over eight years. The full award will be dependent on agreeing terms & conditions including first year target costs. Migration to Alliance Agreements is expected to take place by 31 December 2004, with physical work commencing on 1st April 2005.
