                  Morgan Sindall JV awarded Barnsley NHS LIFT



Morgan Sindall Plc today announces that as part of Community Solutions for
Primary Care (CSPC), a joint venture between Morgan Sindall plc, Apollo Medical
Partners and Barclays European Infrastructure Fund, it has signed a 20 year
partnering agreement with Barnsley Primary Care Trust and Barnsley Metropolitan
Borough Council to provide primary health and social care facilities in
Barnsley, North Yorkshire.



Morgan Sindall's construction company, Bluestone, is the design and construct
framework partner and will carry out construction works totalling some £50
million over the next five years.



Contracts with a capital value of £10 million, for completion within 12 months,
have also been signed for the development of three facilities at Thurnscoe,
Worsbrough and Goldthorpe.

NHS LIFT is a major new initiative for the Department of Health. The Department
and Partnerships UK has formed a national joint venture company - Partnerships
for Health to develop and encourage a new market for investment in primary care
and community based facilities.
