Appointment of Commercial Director


The Board of Morgan Sindall plc is pleased to announce the appointment of
Mr Paul Whitmore (aged 45) to the Board as Commercial Director with effect
from 1st April 2000.

He has been in the construction industry in various roles for 26 years
latterly as Chief Executive of Laing Construction Plc where he has spent
the last 14 months reorganising that company.  This business had an annual
turnover of £1.2 billion.  He joined John Laing in 1973.

John Morgan, Chief Executive, Morgan Sindall PLC commented:
