AGM Statement

Morgan Sindall PLC 24 March 2004 Morgan Sindall plc AGM Statement John Morgan, Chairman of Morgan Sindall plc will make the following comments at the Group's Annual General Meeting to be held at 1pm today. 'All our divisions have made a good start to the year: Fit Out has increased its order book during the first quarter, which underpins our cautious optimism that this sector is seeing initial signs of recovery; Bluestone has commenced construction on its first project under the NHS LIFT scheme in Barnsley, demonstrating the continuing transition of its workload toward more negotiated and framework types of contract. In addition Bluestone's order book has been maintained reflecting its focus on margin improvement rather than turnover growth; Lovell has had a solid start to the year with volumes across all areas of its business in line with budget; Infrastructure Services' key contracts continue to make progress and preparations are ongoing for the AMP4 programme in the water utilities sector. Overall, trading across our four divisions is in line with the Board's expectations and the Group is well positioned to take advantage of the exciting market opportunities in both the public and private sectors.' 24 March 2004 Enquiries: Morgan Sindall plc John Morgan, Executive Chairman 020 7307 9200 Paul Smith, Chief Executive John Bishop, Finance Director College Hill Kate Pope 020 7457 2020 Matthew Smallwood This information is provided by RNS The company news service from the London Stock Exchange
