THE MORGAN CRUCIBLE COMPANY PLC

The Board of The Morgan Crucible Company plc announces Dr Hartmut Eisele has
resigned as a Director of the Company following completion of the sale of its
Magnetics division to One Equity Partners on 8th December 2005.

The Board also announces that Mr David Christopher Godwin will retire, as a
non-executive Director of the Company on 31st December 2005.  Mr Godwin joined
the Board on 31st July 1998.
