Statement re Change of Investment Restriction

The Board of the Montanaro UK Smaller Companies Investment Trust PLC (the "Company") has reviewed the current restriction that AIM listed stocks should not exceed 30 per cent of the Company's total investments.

The Board announces that, following this review, it is amending and increasing this restriction to 40 per cent of total investments.  As this amendment does not constitute a material change in investment policy requiring (inter alia) approval of shareholders at a general meeting of the Company, it will take immediate effect.
