Appointment of Director

The Board is pleased to announce the appointment of Belinda Richards as a non-executive Director of the Company with effect from 28 September 2016.

Ms Richards is a former senior Partner at Deloitte LLP with a thirty year career specialising in business operations and strategy development with a particular focus on the Financial Services and Consumer Products sectors. She is a member of the FRC's Advisory Group of Audit Committee Chairmen and a member of the Governing Council of the Centre for the Study of Financial Information, a not for profit think tank based in the City of London. In addition, she is a currently the chair of the audit committee of Wm Morrison Supermarkets PLC, the senior independent director of Grainger plc and a non-executive director of Aviva Life & Pensions UK Limited. She was previously a director of Friends Life Holdings plc and Balfour Beatty plc.

The Chairman of Monks, James Ferguson said: "I am delighted that Ms Richards, with her extensive business and finance experience, has agreed to join our Board."

The appointment of Ms Belinda Richards is subject to ratification by shareholders at the Annual General Meeting of the Company to be held in 2017.

There is no further information required to be disclosed under Listing Rule 9.6.13.
