Elderstreet VCT plc announces that on 23 December 2005 the Company purchased a
total of 19,500 ordinary shares of 5p each for cancellation  representing 0.14%
of the issued share capital at a price of 55p per share.

Following these transactions the Company now has 14,113,955 ordinary shares in
issue.
