MENTMORE ABBEY PLC 29 September 1999 MENTMORE ABBEY PLC ACQUISITION OF DATAVAULT, SPAIN Mentmore Abbey, the UK's leading space management services group, announces that Britannia Data Management ('BDM'), its records and information management joint venture business, has acquired the Spanish group Datavault SA ('Datavault') for Peseta 950 million (approximately £3.6 million), including assumed debt estimated at Peseta 59 million (approximately £0.2 million). Datavault provides records and information management services to a number of markets in Spain. In particular, it has strong postions in the Bilbao and Madrid regions. In the year ended 31st December 1998 Datavault generated sales of Peseta 283 million (approximately £1.1 million) and an EBITDA of Pesta 77 million (approximately £0.3 million). Nick Smith, chairman of Mentmore Abbey, commenting on the acquisition said: 'The acquisition of Datavault is another important step in our plans to lead the European records management industry.
