Telecom Italia Selects Mobile Tornado Next-Generation Instant Communications IPRS Solution

Mobile Tornado Group Plc (AIM: MBT), the leading supplier of instant communication solutions for workforce management, and its partner Softec have announced an agreement with Telecom Italia to provide Push to Talk services to enterprise markets in Italy, Brazil and Argentina.

Telecom Italia has selected Mobile Tornado's next-generation IPRS^TM (Internet Protocol Radio Service), as the platform for its new Instant Communication services. IPRS's software and systems enable enhanced network-based data communication services and will allow Telecom Italia to increase data network traffic, attract new customers, promote the sales of advanced handsets and drive the adoption of revenue-generating wireless data services.

Subscribers simply download the Instant Communications application onto their Telecom Italia-compatible phone and start using the service immediately. It allows them to communicate in real-time with friends, family and business associates - through both voice and messaging - based on their presence and location status.

Mobile Tornado's IPRS^TM platform recreates the experience that users are familiar with on their desktops by providing an intuitive experience on the mobile handset. Subscribers can use their existing contact lists to communicate from anywhere.
