             NATIONAL EXPRESS GROUP PLC SHARE REPURCHASE PROGRAMME





National Express Group PLC announces that on 15 June 2006 it purchased 50,000 of
its ordinary shares at a price of 798.4 pence per share. It is intended that
these shares will be held in Treasury.





Following the purchase, National Express Group PLC holds 1,825,000 of its
ordinary shares in Treasury and has a total of 151,606,308 ordinary shares
(excluding shares held in Treasury) in issue.
