Retirement of Director

The directors of National Express Group announce that Roger Devlin has retired as a non-executive director of the Board with effect from 28 June 2011 in order to pursue his other business interests.

Commenting on the news John Devaney, Chairman of National Express, said: "I would like to thank Roger warmly for his excellent contribution to the board of National Express since 2007. On behalf of all members of the board, I would like to wish him well for the future".

Roger Devlin said: "It has been a privilege to have served on the National Express board. Now that the business's recovery is firmly established, I intend to devote more time to my responsibilities as Chairman to three substantial private companies. I am confident that with the benefit of the group's first class management team, National Express's return to growth is assured."

Roger spent 13 years as a Director of Hill Samuel where he was head of Mergers and Acquisitions and Chief Executive of their US investment banking operations. He then moved to Ladbrokes, later Hilton PLC, as Group Corporate Development Director. He now chairs three substantial private companies, Principal Hotels, Gamesys and Satellite Information Services. He was also until recently Senior Independent Director of RPS Group Plc, Europe's leading environmental consultancy.
