MITIE has today received notification that, prompted by sales totalling 415,000
on 1 June 2005, Aviva plc, via its subsidiary Morley Fund Management Limited, no
longer has a notifiable interest in ordinary shares of 2.5p each in MITIE.

MITIE has been informed that the total percentage interest of Aviva plc, and of
Morley Fund Management Limited, is 2.94% and the shares to which this
notification relates are registered as follows:
