      MITIE Group PLC ('MITIE') - Notification of substantial shareholding

In response to an enquiry under section 212 of the Companies Act 1985, it has
been confirmed, on 12 October 2006, that M&G Group Limited and M&G Limited (and
their ultimate holding company, Prudential plc), (the 'Companies'), are
interested in a total of 16,201,256 (5.20%) MITIE shares. This interest arises
from the holdings of MITIE shares by funds, which are managed or advised by
various subsidiaries of the Companies.
