                     Appointment of Group Finance Director

MITIE is pleased to announce the appointment of Suzanne Claire Baxter ACA as
Group Finance Director. Suzanne will join the Board as an Executive Director
with effect from 10 April 2006.

Mrs Baxter has extensive experience of the sector following 7 years operating at
divisional board level within Serco Group PLC. She is 37 years old and is
married with 2 children.

Mrs Baxter holds no directorships in any other public quoted companies and has
not done so in the last 5 years and there are no further details required to be
disclosed pursuant to Listing Rule 9.6.13R in connection with her appointment.
She has no interests in MITIE shares.

Following Mrs Baxter's induction to MITIE, Ruby McGregor-Smith will relinquish
her responsibilities and title of Group Finance Director and focus on her role
as Chief Operating Officer of MITIE.

Commenting on the appointment, Ian Stewart, Chief Executive of MITIE, said 'I am
delighted that Suzanne has agreed to join the Board. Her experience will add
considerable value.'
