                            Directors' shareholdings


The Company has today received notification of the following transactions:


(1)    On 21 July 2003 David Malcolm Telling, Chairman of the Company, sold
1,145,000 ordinary shares of 2.5p each in the Company, at a price of £1.29 per
share, representing 0.38% of the issued share capital of the Company;


(2)    on 21 July 2003 Colin Stephen Hale, a director of the Company, sold
337,500 ordinary shares of 2.5p each in the Company, at a price of £1.29 per
share, representing 0.11% of the issued share capital of the Company; and


(3)    also on 21 July 2003 Lynn Sharon Hale, spouse of Colin Stephen Hale, a
director of the Company, sold 17,500 ordinary shares of 2.5p each in the
Company, at a price of £1.29 per share, representing less than 0.01% of the
issued share capital of the Company.


Following these disposals Mr Telling is interested in 7,207,730 ordinary shares
representing 2.38% of the issued share capital of the Company and Mr Hale is
interested in 2,041,134 ordinary shares representing 0.68% of the issued share
capital.
