                       Completion of Disposal of 102 pubs

Mitchells & Butlers is pleased to confirm that the disposal of a package of its
smaller, community pubs to Trust Inns Ltd, announced on 4 October 2006, has
successfully been completed today. Of the 102 pubs disposed, there are 8
Scottish properties for which completion will occur over the coming months as
licensing is transferred or landlord's consent is received.
