e-district.net PLC 7 March 2002 e-district.net plc to Provide Chat Services to Sky Interactive On 5th March 2002, e-district.net plc, signed a twelve month agreement with Sky Interactive Ltd, a wholly owned subsidiary of British Sky Broadcasting Group plc, (Sky) to provide Sky's wholly owned channels with a comprehensive enhanced TV chat solution. Under the terms of the agreement, e-district will host and manage the chat services for Sky, using its own proprietary enhanced TV messaging application suite. Sky digital subscribers will be able to use their existing digital set top boxes, utilising the standard telephone connection to transmit data, to engage in broadcast related chat events. The chat service is due to be launched on selected Sky broadcast channels, including Sky One, Sky News and Sky Sports. Programmes featuring the chat service will feature the Sky Active Icon, and will be accessed by the viewer pressing the red button on their remote control. Questions and comments may be submitted by viewers, either using their standard remote control or the optional infrared keyboard. The chat service will be fully moderated by the Company's event management team before being relayed to Sky set top boxes. About e-district.net plc - to be renamed YooMedia plc On February 27, 2002, e-district announced that it will change its name to YooMedia plc. The name change is subject to shareholder approval, which will be sought within the next month. e-district.net plc currently operates interactive services in the form of chat, messaging and games on Telewest and ntl through its LeisureDistrict Network.
