The agreement confirms e-district's position as a leading innovator in the interactive market place across all platforms and is the latest in a series of ventures by e-district with high profile organizations, including the provision of controlled community internet access to cable platform subscriber services, including Cable & Wireless Communications plc, and Telewest plc, and the provision of content to ISPs, including Freeserve. Steve Laitman, Chief Executive of e-district, said: 'Our bold vision has once again confirmed our position as a driving force in the interactive appliance market place which, according to a recent IDC report, is likely to be the next wave of global computing, with a possible market of $13.7 billion by 2001. We were first to market delivering entertainment and community services to digital and terrestrial interactive television, and that experience has provided us with a knowledge base to deliver to the games console platforms. Our innovative community and content provides partners with exactly what they want and need, if they are going to keep their customers satisfied. This is just the first of many agreements in this massive market sector.'
