The Merchants Trust PLC (the 'Company').





On 19 May 2006 the Board of the Company announced its participation in the
scheme of reconstruction of Allianz Dresdner Income Growth Investment Trust plc.
The scheme of reconstruction has become effective today and accordingly,
application has been  made  to The UK Listing Authority and the London Stock
Exchange for 1,655,941 ordinary shares of 25p each to be admitted to the
Official List and to be admitted to trading on the London Stock Exchange.
Dealings in the new shares are expected to commence on 30 June 2006.
