LONDON STOCK EXCHANGE ANNOUNCEMENT

THE MERCANTILE INVESTMENT TRUST PLC

SECOND QUARTERLY DIVIDEND

The Directors have declared that a second quarterly dividend of 10.25p per share will be paid on 1^st November 2016 to shareholders on the register as at the close of business on 7^th  October 2016.  The ex-dividend date will be 6^th October 2016.  Please note this payment will include a Dividend Re-investment Plan facility, for which the election date will be 14^th October 2016.
