LONDON STOCK EXCHANGE ANNOUNCEMENT

THE MERCANTILE INVESTMENT TRUST PLC

FIRST QUARTERLY DIVIDEND

The Directors have declared that a first quarterly dividend of 10.00p per share will be paid on 31st July 2015 to shareholders on the register as at the close of business on 26^th June 2015.  The ex-dividend date will be 25^th June 2015.  Please note this payment will include a Dividend Re-investment Plan facility, for which the election date will be 10^th July 2015.

The increase in the level of the first quarterly dividend is a rebalancing exercise which will not necessarily result in an increased total amount for the year.
