THE MERCANTILE INVESTMENT TRUST PLC

SECOND QUARTERLY DIVIDEND

The Directors have declared that a second quarterly dividend of 8.00p per share will be paid on 31st October 2014 to shareholders on the register as at the close of business on 3^rd October 2014.  The ex-dividend date will be 1^st October 2014.  Please note this payment will include a Dividend Re-investment Plan facility, for which the election date will be 10^th October 2014.
