THE MERCANTILE INVESTMENT TRUST PLC

THIRD QUARTERLY DIVIDEND

The Directors have declared that a third quarterly dividend of 8.00p per share for the year ended 31^st January 2014 will be paid on 31st January 2014 to shareholders on the register as at the close of business on 3^rd January 2014.  The ex-dividend date will be 31^st December 2013.

The Election Date for the Dividend Re-Investment Plan will be 10^th January 2014.
