THE MERCANTILE INVESTMENT TRUST PLC

FOURTH QUARTERLY DIVIDEND

The Directors have declared that a fourth interim dividend of 18.00p per share will be paid on 1^st May 2012 to shareholders on the register as at the close of business on 10^th April 2012.  The election date for the Dividend Re-Investment Plan will be 13^th April 2012.
