MELROSE INDUSTRIES PLC

REDUCTION OF CAPITAL BECOMES EFFECTIVE

Melrose Industries PLC ("Melrose"; formerly known as New Melrose PLC) yesterday received Court confirmation of the reduction of the share capital of Melrose, pursuant to which the nominal value of each ordinary share in the capital of Melrose has been reduced from 120 pence to 0.1 penny.

The order of the Court was registered by the Registrar of Companies today and the reduction of capital is therefore effective.
