Melrose PLC 26 July 2005 Appointment of Perry Crosthwaite Melrose PLC (the "Company") Melrose PLC announces the appointment of Perry Crosthwaite as a Non Executive Director with immediate effect. Perry Crosthwaite has over 30 years experience as a director in the city of London. Perry was a founding director of Henderson Crosthwaite Institutional Brokers Limited, serving on the board until its acquisition by Investec Group (UK) PLC in 1998. He became a director of Investec Bank (UK) Limited and Chairman of the Investment Banking division until his retirement in 2004. Peregrine Kenneth Oughton Crosthwaite (aged 56) is currently a non-executive director of ToLuna plc and of the CIDA Foundation and has also been a director of Investec Bank (UK) Limited, Technology Nominees Limited, Quay Nominees Limited and Henderson Crosthwaite Institutional Brokers Limited in the previous five years. As at the date of this announcement, Perry Crosthwaite holds 150,000 ordinary shares in the Company.
