New Chief Executive

Meikles Africa Limited ('Meikles Africa') the Sub-Saharan
hotel and retail group quoted on the Zimbabwe and London Stock
Exchanges, announces that Chris Parvin has today assumed the
position of Chief Executive.

Meikles Africa announces that Mr Chris Parvin today assumes
the full time role of Chief Executive, having previously been
non-executive director of Meikles Africa.  John Moxon
relinquishes his position as Executive Chairman of the group
to become non-executive Chairman.

Chris Parvin has valuable experience of operating in the
region, and has served on the board of Meikles Africa since
late 1996.  He holds a BA Honours degree in Economics and is a
member of the Institute of Directors.  He was with the Lonrho
group in Zambia and Zimbabwe for many years, serving as Chief
Executive of their Zimbabwean operations for 10 years and has
recently retired from his role as Executive Deputy Chairman
for Lonrho Africa plc.

John Moxon commented:

He has excellent management expertise and has been a valuable
member of the board where he has demonstrated that he is the
right man to take Meikles Africa forward as we pursue regional
expansion opportunities and grow our existing businesses.'
